Store Collections and Shop Channels
Store collections is admin only. You need the admin (hub admin) scope. Publisher users do not see E-commerce → Store collections in the sidebar. If you need a collection or a shop channel, ask your administrator.
A store collection is a book list. Channels under it publish that list to a shop. The page title is Store collections.
Catalogue
→ Store collection (the book list)
→ Woo channel → CSVs → WooCommerce plugin import
→ Shopify channel → Shop Connector syncMarket, price, variant grouping, gallery, schedule, and keys sit on the channel, not on the collection.
Create a collection
- Open E-commerce → Store collections.
- Click Create Collection.
- Set Collection Name. Slug is filled from the name.
- Click Generate Secure Key for the collection key (the public id of this list). A Woo channel sends it together with that channel’s access key.
- Optional Description. Status: Published, Draft, or Archived.
- Save.
This creates the book list only. Add a channel afterwards. Each channel keeps its own market, price, and edition grouping.
You can Edit name, slug, collection key, description, status, and taxonomy settings later. Taxonomy flags apply to every channel on the list (collections, series, languages, age and grade, Thema, contributors, publishers, reviews, and related qualifiers).
Manage books
Click Manage Books on a collection.
- Search and Add Book.
- Bulk add by ISBN: paste ISBNs, Lookup ISBNs, review found / already in the list / not in the catalogue, then confirm.
- Remove one title, or Remove all.
You can also select books on Books and use bulk Add to Store Collection.
Only titles that are complete enough for the shop should go in. Run validation (Check store readiness) first.
Add a channel
On the collection, click Add channel. Choose WooCommerce or Shopify. Market, price, and edition grouping are set on the next screen.
- One collection can have one Woo channel.
- It can have more than one Shopify shop.
Shared channel settings
| Setting | What it does |
|---|---|
| Market | ZA, GB, or US - which Supply prices this channel uses |
| Variant structure | Variants by format and language (one product for every language and format) or Variants by format only (a product per language, with format variants) |
| Markup % | Applied to RRP including tax. The publisher’s price on the book is left as entered |
| Channel price type | Optional List 58 type. Default is None - RRP including tax, plus markup |
| Round the store price | Round to the nearest whole unit |
| This channel is the stock authority for its market | Leave off if OnixFeed Supply should set the shop’s quantities. Turn on if this shop is where stock is counted |
| Gallery images | Extra images after the front cover (back cover, cover/pack, and similar). Audio and documents are left out |
Stock authority answers “who has the live quantity?” for that channel’s market (ZA, GB, or US):
- Off (usual): OnixFeed Supply is the source. Sync or CSV writes those quantities to the shop.
- On: The shop is the source. Shopify sync does not overwrite shop quantities; it reads them back into Supply for that market. Use this when orders are taken in the shop and you want OnixFeed to follow those numbers.
Only one channel can be the stock authority for a given market. If a ZA Shopify shop owns ZA stock, you cannot also turn it on for a ZA Woo channel (or a second ZA Shopify shop). Other markets are separate - ZA and GB can each have their own authority.
Save channel stores those settings. It does not write products to a shop.
WooCommerce channel
The row label is Woo. CSV buttons sit on that row.
- Edit the Woo channel and Generate key for the WooCommerce access key. Save it when it is shown - it is not shown again. Rotate key replaces it immediately. Revoke key stops WordPress pulling files.
- WordPress uses the collection key plus this access key to list and download CSVs. See WooCommerce.
- Generate Books, Contributors, Reviews, and Publishers, or View CSV. Only published books go into the books CSV.
- Optional: Regenerate CSVs on schedule and a Time (SAST). The list shows the next run when scheduling is on.
The WooCommerce plugin still has to Refresh List and Import those files. There is no hourly import inside WordPress.
Shopify channel
The row label is Shopify, or Shopify - {shop} after the Shopify app connects. Unnamed extra shops are Shopify 2, and so on.
Status is Linked, Unlinked, or Not connected, plus the schedule.
- Edit the Shopify channel. Saving does not write products. The shop stays unlinked until the Shopify app connects.
- Generate key for the publication key. Save it when it is shown. The merchant pastes it in OnixFeed Shop Connector.
- Optional: Sync this shop on schedule and a Time (SAST). The shop app checks that clock while it is running.
- After connect, the row shows the shop domain. Clear shop lets a new connect set the domain again.
There are no CSV buttons on a Shopify row. Sync happens in the Shopify app. See Shopify.
Remove a channel: Woo stops CSV generation for that channel. Shopify keeps products already in the shop.
